Mortar Board accepting applications for new Executive Director

A committee formed by the Mortar Board National Council and National Foundation has launched an extensive search to find an ideal executive director to lead the society following the April departure of Mortar Board's former executive director. Applications are being accepted through Sunday, July 12. The committee anticipates that the selected candidate will start his or her time with Mortar Board in the fall.

Mortar Board is an organization that requires visionary leadership and a strong commitment to our ideals of scholarship, leadership and service. National President Sally Steadman explained that "we are committed to ensuring that a well-qualified, devoted candidate will guide Mortar Board’s future as the society’s newest executive director.  This multi-faceted position requires that an individual also serve as the society’s chief financial officer, director of development and spokesperson. It is our goal to find a candidate with extensive knowledge about Mortar Board and the diverse skills and experience that are necessary to continue to build upon our society’s rich traditions as we move forward."

All materials pertinent to the search for a new executive director, including the complete position description, have been made available online at www.mortarboard.org/EDsearch.

If you are interested in applying or know anyone who may be interested in applying for this position, please visit www.mortarboard.org/EDsearch or e-mail Search Committee Chair Jane Beyer at jbeyer@mortarboard.org.
